Other than the sky, I couldn't tell you if there is any blue in either of these shots. The morning light was so beautiful, so warm and striking, that I couldn't pass it up.

292: Another early walk

I've been taking our point-and-shoot along on my walks with the dog to shake up my creativity and take advantage of the different perspective the early morning light provides. Here are some entrances to the homes of a few of the neighbors.

This is the same church parking lot where this scene is located. If you're looking for the blue in this picture, it's too dark to see: there is a blue awning over the glowing church doorway in the bottom portion of the image.

I've been getting up early to walk the dog. While I can't help but groan when the alarm goes off, I would have missed this lovely misty morning without our new daily ritual.

189: Fulton Gas Works

An abandoned gas works near my house. I've always heard it was a Superfund site, but I didn't find it on any online lists.

I did find lots of blogs and photosharing albums of this subject though. I find it heartening to see so many others fascinated by the mystery and rich history of this site and others like it. I love this painting in particular.

Another window sill discovery. These two pieces of wooden fruit need to be rinsed off, and they wound up here to dry, reminding me of an earlier shot of this little turtle and another orange.

I stopped at this park a few weeks ago to try to capture an image of the city skyline. The bright, early evening sun and a family playing on the only blue structure meant I didn't get the shot I had in mind, and I've been wanting to return for another try.

Now that I see all the images together, I think I might prefer the shot in the previous post. I like the spontaneity of the first shot, while these are more careful, controlled and less risky shots.

140: Last Day

Today was my last day at my job, and I felt some pressure to find all the great photo ops in the vicinity. This was in a window as I walked from my car into the shop.

During a break, I took a walk in the alley behind my job. For some of the non-blue photos, you can go here. One of my favorites in the day lily shot.

This shot, a stop on the way home, was inspired by Jehan's New York 365 project, particularly this image. Hoping to try this scene again when the lighting is not so bright.
